Friday, August 15, Barbara Snow, local expert on Louis Comfort Tiffany, "Louis Comfort Tiffany, Artistic Genius". Dinner at the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club.
Thursday, September 25, Visit to the Rorimer estate in Bainbridge Township, Geauga County. Tour of Rorycrest, summer home of the Rorimer family since the early years of the 20th century. Louis Rorimer was a partner in Rorimer-Brooks Studios that designed furnishings for many of Cleveland's hotels in the first third of the 20th century including Higbee's Silver Grille. James Rorimer was one of the celebrated WWII monuments men and later director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Louis Rorimer and his wife Savory will welcome us to this beautiful country property. The estate is now called Snake Hill Farm, L. P. Produce grown there is sold at many local farm markets. There will be a tour of the house followed by a picnic supper. The visit will start at 5:00pm.
Saturday, October 25, The Darl Center for the Arts. Darl Schaarf, owner and restorer of a private collection housed in a Carnegie Library at 5437 Broadway, Cleveland, OH in Slavic Village. The library was gifted to the City of Cleveland in 1906 by a grant from the Carnegie Foundation of $590,000. It closed in 1987. It is shaped like a decagon with 10 sides and a central atrium.
