A DAY IN THE COUNTRY
Join us as we visit the 1828 Elam Jones Public House in Hartford, OH on August 14 at 11:00 am. On the main travel route (Ohio Route 7) for settlers between Youngstown and Conneaut and only a few miles from the Pennsylvania border this special restoration is the home of Chris and Diane Klingemier. Chris spoke to CDA in 2019 about the Trumbull County clock industry and has built and dedicated a room to house his collection of locally made wooden works clocks. Diane collects early decorative antiques and their house is a treasure trove of unique items. The tour will be followed by a picnic luncheon across the street from the house.  This private home is a true gem in the Western Reserve.

Friday, April 12, Dr Ware Petznick will present a program on the enduring allure of Chinese Export Porcelain. She will identify both antique and contemporary examples and discuss its continuing popularity.
*Lecture at 6:00PM at the Mayfield Country Club, South Euclid, OH followed by dinner.

Saturday, March 2, 2024, Annual membership meeting. Third annual John Hellman Memorial Lecture with speakers Joseph P and Nancy F Keithley who gifted The Cleveland Museum of Art works from the impressionist period to modernism in 2020 and includes Japanese and Chinese ceramics. The donation was the largest gift since 1958.  Lunch at noon followed by the Annual Meeting and lecture at the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club, Gates Mills, OH

A career educator and ceramic specialist she provides consultation services to museums & historic sites, lectures, writes & enthusiastically shares her passion for British ceramics.

Saturday, August 12, 2023 - Anya Rudd Tour of Harcourt Manor. Designed by Frank Meade and constructed between 1911 and 1915. It was vacant for 6 years and has been completely renovated by Rudd who is a professional interior designer and will be our guide. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. Tour starts at 2:00pm. 2178 Harcourt Drive, Cleveland Heights, OH.

Christine served the Cleveland Museum of Art for many years in the Ingalls Library so she has much to tell us about how to navigate the world of reference material available locally and online.

Traditional clambake with baked chicken, rolls and desert, wine , beer and softdrinks.  $40 per person.  This event requires that all attendees be fully vaccinated for Covid-19.  Invitations have been sent to Decorative Arts and Dunham Tavern members.
